One of the single best ways to connect with potential clients in a way that they get to understand how you can help them is to speak to groups of people – a very powerful way for others to get to know, like and trust you.

This can be done in person via speaking engagements, workshops, classes, networking events; on the phone on teleclasses, teleseminars, etc.; or on the web through webinars, social networking, blogging, newsletters, Fan Pages, and so many more methods…

Over the years, I have given hundreds of presentations. And I’ve learned something VERY IMPORTANT that I want to share this with you:

To make sales from your presentation, just giving a killer speech isn’t good enough.

Below are my “Fantastic 5 Keys to Delivering a Kick-Ass, Sales-Generating Presentation!” as posted on my “Small Business Daily Success Tips” on http://facebook.com/GrowYourBiz:

11/8/10
MONDAY “Tip of the Day”: BizCoachJason’s Fantastic 5 Keys to Deliver a Kick-Ass, Sales-Generating Presentation: Key #1 – “Make a great first impression!” How important is this? Our subconscious mind tells us whether we like someone or not based on an intuitive first impression. If it’s a bad impression, it can be overcome but that can be *very* difficult. Get started on the track, right away. And remember to SMILE!

11/9/10
TUESDAY “Tip of the Day”: Key #2 – “Make a BOLD promise!” Grab your audience’s attention in a big way! Tell them what’s in it for them to spend their precious time, attention and energy listening to you. You’ll gain acceptance and enthusiasm, and make it more fun for you and them. And you better deliver on your bold promise!

11/10/10
WEDNESDAY “Tip of the Day”: Key #3 – “Learn something about your audience” This is a really important component of your talk to make sure you are delivering value and building the relationship with your audience members. You need to know who you are talking to and what their challenges are, even when you invited a specific group of people.

11/11/10
THURSDAY “Tip of the Day”: Key #4 – “Involve your participants” People learn in different ways. Engage your audience members by involving them and making them a part of your presentation. Make it fun for them. Give them an experience, not just a lecture, and they will learn, remember and enjoy it exponentially more.

11/12/10
FRIDAY “Tip of the Day”: Key #5 – “Provide a Call to Action” Without this, you can give a magnificent, stellar presentation and GET NO SALES. I’ve been there, done that. I’ve seen too many others fall prey to this as well. YOU NEED TO MAKE AN IRRESISTIBLE OFFER and tell your audience EXACTLY what to do to accept. This makes it a win-win!

Now go out there and create massive value for your target market by giving kick-ass presentations that will serve you and serve them!

Remember, to get even more sales, marketing, social media and other business success tips:
- Go to and “Like” http://facebook.com/GrowYourBiz
- Introduce yourself and your business on The Wall
- Come back each day to read and comment on the tips. This will grow your skills and your business as well as your own social networking connections and effectiveness.

To your success!

Every small business owner asks themselves this question - usually more often that not.

I’m happy to say that recently a number of past clients have contacted and hired me again to help them with this very question, to get down pat the skills, strategies, motivations and action plans needed to make it happen. That’s always a wonderful sign and feeling.

I like to help my clients set up a system that involves online and offline networking, getting exposure as an expert in their field, and using various client attraction methods to really put the fun back into marketing and sales.

I recommend people find ways to engage past, current and future clients in ways that really resonate with them as individuals and appeal to their target client. Provide lots of helpful info – create newsletters or teleclasses, speak at events, organize networking gatherings, use Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Meetup, partner up with others that share the same target audience, and join a “leads” group.

Connect and build relationships based on mutual interests and joint benefits. It’s all there for the taking, and it can be a very enjoyable and rewarding experience!

If you would like more info on any of these ideas, please feel free to ask me. I’d be happy to help.

All the best,

I just got done with a coaching call with one of my favorite clients. I love this guy (as I do all my clients!) because he is a really genuine person, cares about others and wants to make his business truly incredible.

And I want to share something very interesting from our session today…

We are working together to build his business to increase his customers, increase his staff, increase his sales, increase his own take-home pay, and generally build up his business, just as all my clients generally want for their own businesses.

At the moment, he has some things that are getting in the way. He is:
- Not sleeping
- Not eating properly
- Not taking personal time to relax
- Not exercising
- Has relationship issues occupying his thoughts
- Feels hyper and stressed out
- Letting all these things circle around into an almost unbreakable cycle.

So… what’s the answer?

COFFEE.

Yep – We figured out that he is drinking too much coffee as a way to keep his energy up and get through his busy, sometimes stressful workdays.

So his plan to fix all this over the next week?

Drinking less coffee.

A lot less.

He is going to only drink 2 cups of coffee per day, and none after 12pm.

How does that fix all the other problems?

Well, by drinking less coffee and not having it later in the day, he should be able to get home at night and feel like getting some exercise in to get the heart moving, instead of needing to sit down and relax because the heart is already racing.

If he gets 30 minutes of exercise in after work, he is probably going to “sleep like a baby,” in his words.

If he gets more and better sleep, he is going to be less stressed at work and feel better when working with his clients. If he has more energy, more focus and a better mind-set, he will be more productive. When he is more productive, he will be able to get more done and therefore have more time to spend away from work….

And the cycle starts to spin the other way. Instead of all the bad things spiraling out of control, all the good things are going to do the same thing with much more favorable results.

And he started the “good spiral” today by pouring out the rest of the coffee that was sitting in front of him as we talked.

So….

What one little action step are YOU going to take today that will help everything fall into place?

Where do you break the cycle and take action?

I’ve seen many people go crazy (and I’ve done this myself) with procrastination. Trying to figure out: if A leads to B and B leads to C and C leads back to A, where should I start?

In the end, it probably doesn’t really matter. Just take action. Choose the easiest, smallest task so you are highly likely to do it. Or pick the biggest, scariest one, so you build up the motivation and conviction to see it through and can move on to the next one. Either way, just pick one and do it.

Don’t let procrastination or fear of choosing the wrong one get in the way of you changing your situation now and for the better.

Now go ahead and write down your one little action that you are going to take today, and make it count!

You can also share it with us below to help you keep accountability and help inspire others.

And here’s to your success!

Avoiding burnout for us entrepreneurs is key to having a strong, thriving business and happy life:

1.) Create your vision fully – List all the details, all the motivators and consequences of not attaining the vision

2.) Strategize your actions and make sure they are inspired actions – Productivity steps that energize and excite you. Don’t get bogged down with the little things that you don’t really enjoy. There is no one way to accomplish something; there are usually MANY ways. Work with someone to find out what those are, and how to get them done.

3.) Surround yourself with positive people and minimize time with energy draining people.

4.) Take time for yourself everyday, or in crunch time, at the very least every week. Do those things that relax you – read the morning paper in peace, have a cup of tea on the patio, walk, jog or bike for 30 minutes. Take a little time out of your day to refresh your mind and body. For me, bike riding on long trails is when I get the most relaxation, a good workout and fantastic business brainstorming, energy and motivation!

5.) And lastly, don’t go it alone. Work with others and get outside support. You’re not in it alone, and everyone benefits when we work together.

I have just read several blogs that deal with all these topics. Some were suggestions, some were rants, and others were just ideas to help others with sales.

I am a huge believer in networking and “mutually beneficial marketing”! I write articles, give teleclasses and live seminars. These are all forms of marketing and gaining exposure, but the goal isn’t to sell someone on something, but rather to provide useful, insightful info from my own experiences.

And now I am benefitting from the social networking arena – mostly Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Meetup and Ning – where they can all come together. So here is my take:

Successful online networking is not much different than in-person networking: Build your personal and business brand into a cohesive message and attractive experience.

The key to great networking is to develop relationships by:
• Connecting
• Finding common ground
• Being service oriented
• Providing great value – resources, content, ideas or connections

By doing all these, people can get to know you and at the same time enhance themselves and their business, while you expect nothing in return.

And the key to turning people off right away and therefore NEVER being able to make a sale:
• Beat them over the head with your sales pitch

People need to know, like and trust you.

Helping others without expectation is the easiest way to get that accomplished. Plus, others will be drawn to you as you truly are, not as some marketing guru wrote webpage copy to “spin” the real you. This starts off the relationship on the right foot, as people will know what to expect from you.

These are my philosophies, and they have worked very well. Here are two recent articles about online and offline networking strategies and skills here:

“10 Holiday Networking Tips”
www.tinyurl.com/Networking10Tips

“How can I use Twitter to draw business to my website?”
www.tinyurl.com/7dpqrm

Good luck, and please feel free to connect so we can help each other. :)

All the best,
Jason
